September and October Volunteer Opportunities and Happenings

Cafeteria Volunteers: The 4th and 5th grade students help us each day in the lunchroom by serving food and washing dishes. We need an adult volunteer to work each day from 12:00pm – 1:10 pm to help the student dishwashers. This is a safety issue so we really NEED someone to be there to supervise the students around the hot water of the washer. You will receive a free lunch for volunteering your time! Please help if you can...this is a wonderful program that we need lots of help for - please sign-up here.

Miller on the Move starts Monday, September 18th! This is a fun program encouraging kids to run/walk during lunch recess. They can run, walk, skip, or even hop on crutches as some injured participants have done in the past. For each lap they get their hand stamped. The number of stamps are recoreded each day and kids earn "feet" for each mile they run. The kids get a lot of enjoyment from this program. We need parent volunteers during lunch recess - sign-up today!.

Oct 12 - 9am PTO Meeting - Speaker Heather Kranz, author of Bubbles

Miller Swag: t-shirts, hats, sweatshirts and more! Order Online

Thank you to the volunteers who helped stuff our August parent letters and to those volunteers who assembled our 1st Day Packets. It was a big job and you were all very helpful! THANK YOU!!

Thank you also to the families that came out on August 24th to help clean up the front of Miller Elementary. Folks were raking pulling weeds, picking up trash and trimming bushes. We will be asking for families or classrooms to ‘Adopt a Plot’ to manage during the year. Details will be sent out soon. Another yard clean up is planned for September/October - stay tuned!
