Parent Education Talk: Screenagers
Parent Education Talk: Screenagers - Elementary School Edition
Thursday, January 23rd, 5:30-7:00 PM at the Highland Elementary Gym
Miller PTO is partnering with Highland Elementary School to present an engaging screening of Screenagers, a documentary that explores the challenges of addictive technology and video gaming. The film offers insights and practical advice for parents, teachers, and students on topics such as smartwatches in class, unhooking from and monitoring video gaming, social media pressures, exposure too young and what research shows is a healthy amount of screen time. Screenagers is open to the entire Bend-LaPine community.
After the screening, Well Wired will lead a panel discussion and Q&A with a local mental health counselor.
The movie is suitable for ages 6 and up. Please note, childcare will not be provided. If your child attends, be prepared for a 1-hour movie followed by a 30-minute Q&A.
